Ing. Paul Dam, creator of the KAAM-1000 and the KAAM-800

Engineer Paul Dam specialized in electrical engineering already during his studies. In his final phase he researched and created a digital current-source driven amplifier. This research proved to him that an optimal reproduction of sound should not be dependent on the efficiency. In the early 1960s Paul Dam started his working career at Van der Heem (which in 1966 became a part of Philips). Here, he was responsible for professional military equipment, such as under water detection systems. During the last 25 years of his career Paul Dam worked as a teacher in the fields of electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, telecommunications and computer science.

From 2006 he has devoted his spare time to realize his dream: building the ultimate tube amplifier. The KAAM-1000 and the KAAM-800 (KAnzy AMplifier) are the result of his ambition: an amplifier that reflects the perfectionist nature of its creator.
